One of the things that is entertaining about the latest crop of big cruisers is the chromed fishbowl that is the headlight nacelle. It is much like a stone of Orthanc, in that many things can be viewed. In this case, I saw a strange statue and a dinosaur I had no idea was roaming around the compound.

A new ‘Bird is hatched

“See Johnny back him down?” This famous bit of moto-dialogue comes from one of the most iconic motorcycle movies of all time. The Wild One starred Marlon Brando and his Triumph 6T Thunderbird back in the 50’s, and the new 2010 Thunderbird takes the basic bike concept, more than doubles the engine size and gives the machine a more cruiseresque demeanor. I’m spending quality time with Johnny’s new ride and shall have reviews up in various outlets soon. Wanna see Johnny go?

France?

I love this. When Daytona Motorsports group assumed the running of the AMA Pro Roadracing operation last year, new President Roger Edmondson described Jim France (DMG owner) as “The most ordinary billionaire I’ve ever met.”

This comment creeped me out when he said it, for reasons I have no explanation for, really. But he was right. I mean, how much more of an ordinary billionaire can you be when your son gets busted for crack while racing his Lamborghini?
